An Introduction to 3D Printing
3D printing has become the go-to tool for professional designers and the DIY community. Used to create homes, bridges, kitchenware and clothes, this new technology is creating new possibilities across the design disciplines. But as it becomes ever more accessible, how easy is it to create your own 3D printed project?
This hands-on introduction covers all the basics of 3D printing, introducing the techniques, tools and online resources needed to create your own projects. Led by designer and educator Tzveta Dinova, participants will design and produce their own object and be equipped with the skills needed to continue 3D printing after the course.
This course also includes a guest lecture from leading designer Assa Ashuach, who will introduce his work and explore the potentials and challenges of 3D printing.

Tzveta has extensive experience in facilitating digital learning programmes. Her combined background in computer science, design and anthropology fuels her passion to explore the possibilities of new technology to enhance the learning process and provide new opportunities for creative expression.
Assa Ashuach is a product designer specialising in digital design and innovative manufacturing processes. He is the founding director of Assa Studio, Co-founder of Digital Forming and a lecturer at Central Saint Martins. His 3D Printed projects have been exhibited in galleries around the world, including the V and A, Design Museum and Aram Gallery.
